Goals for the Rest of 2009

I like making these lists so I know what I’m doing and I know that I’m still on track with my life.

  1. Save $5,000 to put in term deposit (By July/August.)
  2. Slim down a bit more (By the end of the year - yes I’m being optimistic.)

  4. Upskill - learn a new language and/or learn dressmaking (Start by September/October?)
  5. Fulfill work goals. (I will try my best of course! *cough*)

  • I actually need a powerful computer for the Sims 3 but I guess that can wait :/ I hardly game nowadays anyway.
  • Dunno yet if I will continue with the postgraduate studies next year. We’ll see how it goes with my other plans.

BACKTRACK: 7 Steps

Lately I’ve been feeling really tired, worn out, and stressed. I have trouble sleeping as there were so many things going on inside my head. I hate that I just wait for the next weekend or holiday, and that I don’t live my life everyday, when there are so many things I should be thankful of.

And so, I’ve decided to take my life back! I figure a number of factors are contributing to my sluggishness. To regain my energy, I am going to establish some goals again.

  1. Sleep early. For the last few weeks a past-midnight bedtime has been the norm, and because of that, I end up waking late as well. There’s nothing really majorly important to do for me to sleep so late - I’m just being stubborn to myself.
  2. Wake up at roughly the same time everyday. Preferably 6 am. Waking up early enough prevents rushing to get to work. Less rushing = less stress.
  3. Stop procrastinating. Not just for work, but also in other matters in life. The sooner I get rid of the stuff I don’t like, the sooner I can move on the better things.
  4. Go to gym at least three times a week. One of the biggest factors to my increasing weariness is the fact that I don’t get enough exercise. I’m forever glued to my seat in front of the computer. I need to feel invigorated again, and make use of my gym membership.
  5. Get my driver’s licence. This is more of a willpower thing. Sometimes I get stressed because I know I have to continue doing lessons or else I’ll forget what I’ve learned. But it takes a chunk of my free time everyday, and and the concentration needed and pressure to finish the required hours AND pass the exam is nerve-wracking. Still, it’s one of the things I’ve put off for a long time. Now the target is 25 hours by end of February, and 50 hours before we leave for Phils.
  6. Eat healthier. That means no skipping meals because I can’t think of what to eat during lunch. I’ve decided to have at least one healthy meal a day. Easy enough to do with those Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice meals… Oh, and no softdrinks!
  7. Drink more water. Everyone knows getting hydrated is good for you.

The end goal is to feel better about myself, of course. No more stressing out over the little stuff. Relax, take a break, and enjoy my life!

(Because it’s
my year - the year of the Ox!)
