Microsoft XNA Game Studio Express 2.0 Beta Released

The beta version of the Microsoft XNA Game Studio Express 2.0 has been released. Download here

It comes with support for the other Visual Studio 2005 products (which in turn, supports more features such as source code control) and the following:

  • XNA Game Studio Device Center - for easier connectivity with the Xbox 360
  • Cross-Platform Game Converter - for a simpler conversion process between Windows and Xbox 360 projects
  • Integrated Game Content Projects - allows game content to be built separately from code
  • Networking Support - enables developers to create multiplayer games

With these new developments, I’m excited but also apprehensive at the same time, mainly because I haven’t been able to use 1.0 as fully as I wanted to first. Now here comes the new and better version. I just hope there isn’t a steep learning curve, and that the current XNA books and documentation are still relevant.
