Book Review: Graceling by Kristin Cashore
This was recommended to me by Karl (gamerintheshell). It’s actually for juvenile readers but I sometimes prefer the juvenile fantasy genre (maybe because it’s just simpler and easier to get into? Haha.) Anyway, I won’t get into the summary of the story, you can just go to Google if you want to know.
The main point is, I liked the book, and especially because I could relate to the protagonist. That was actually one of the reasons why this piqued my interest, when Karl mentioned that the main girl Katsa reminded him of myself.
I would also consider this one of those “girl power” books, not just because of the main character, but also the importance of the female characters in the book, the focus of the story progression, and of course, the ending. Of course, when I got to the epilogue I went “What kind of ending is this!?” but soon after I realised that it’s perfect, because Katsa will be Katsa (yep, I know I’m not making sense, just read the book!)
